The garden is looking its most beautiful. It’s been a strange growing season and everything is 4-6 weeks behind its usually schedule. (The tomatoes are only now coming to ripeness.) The photo above shows the eastern half of the garden: Mexican sunflowers, tomatoes, sunflower, corn, sweet potatoes, summer squash and herb garden.
I’m very fortunate to garden in a cooperative arrangement I call backyard shared cropping. A family allows me to grow a 370 square foot food garden along the south expanse of their house in their huge backyard. We split expenses. They pick up mulch and I pay for plants and seeds. And we all enjoy the fruits of my labor.
The photo below shows the western half of the garden. Plus there’s the bee & butterfly garden around the west side of the house.
